Two weeks ago, I paid off my car.
Wednesday, it died on my way to work.
On the Whiele bridge.
At 8 a.m.
More than $600, two days, one hour-long bus ride and several renditions of "The battery is fried. You just need a new battery." "Year-old batteries don't just fry. Check the alternator. Please." I have it back.
Now, it just needs a new windshield, brakes, rotors and tires, which I already knew. Sigh.
Yes, this text is intentionally blue.
Aw, isn't that always the way? I think the car manufacturers plan it that way, at least to a certain extent.

Oh, I'm so sorry about the car. But I'm even sorrier that I won't get to see you at the Retreat!

Thanks for the comisseraton. I won't be at the retreat this year, so you'll just have to come over to DC!

Hi Lissa- I know the feeling about the car- had to "breakdown" and buy a new one in May because the maintenance costs on the paid off one were getting out of control. Hope to see your Maureen Mason Jamieson sweater at KR retreat!
